2025: Record attendance
Never before have so many found their way to Stavanger Art Museum! 12 percent more visitors came to the museum in 2025 than the year before—which was also a record year.
When the 2025 figures are tallied, it turns out that 60,646 people visited the art museum last year.
Great interest
“It is gratifying to see that the public has received our exhibitions so well in the anniversary year 2025. Lars Hertervig, Kitty Kielland, and Frida Hansen are local artists of great art-historical significance, and we are pleased that our audience has shown interest in them. The autumn exhibition featuring Michael Rakowitz has also been met with great interest from our audience, and it can still be experienced until March 15 this year,” says Hanne Beate Ueland, Department Director of Stavanger Art Museum.
Coffee and waffles
Barbara Slowik is the head of sales and service at Stavanger Art Museum. She is responsible for the popular café and museum shop and has full oversight of coffee and waffle sales.
“We served 8,920 waffles and 26,181 cups of coffee! Many thanks to everyone who stopped by the museum in 2025—whether you came for the art, a waffle, or a visit to the shop. It’s so nice to see the dome and the exhibition halls full of life and good vibes! A big thank-you also to everyone who works at the museum, and an extra thanks to our fantastic hosts, who welcome our guests with a smile and ensure the best possible museum experience—every single day,” says Slowik.
